Earn to Learn FL
Marketing and Project Management

Earn to Learn Florida empowers low-to-moderate income students to successfully complete college, thanks to matched savings grants and scholarships. I worked with Earn to Learn FL for over three years as a marketing and project manager.

Below are some examples of my work and impact.

Event Marketing and Project Management
Earn to Learn FL (Formerly Southwest Florida Women’s Foundation) Mentors of IMPACT Fundraiser.

In my contracting role at Earn to Learn FL, I served as a marketing and project manager
My goal was to plan and execute the logistics of the event and to help the foundation meet their fundraising goals.

Project Management Methodology

We used waterfall project management methodologies- to complete the necessary linear and chronological tasks of the event. We also incorporated Agile methodologies to complete the event's marketing and media assets.
Here were my steps to achieve my goal:

  • Analyzed previous years' data and created a project management chart to set weekly tasks and goals.
  • Liaised with event vendors (AV Engineers, fundraising platform, photographers, venue, and media) to ensure optimal results.
  • Created a media kit, sponsor package, and press releases for pre-event and post-event coverage.
  • Crafted and tailored messaging for maximum donor engagement

Results

My event logistics, planning, and execution were successful. We completed the event below budget thanks to several In-kind donations and exceeded the previous year’s numbers. We raised over $300,000 to fund scholarship grants for more than 60 Florida Students. Coverage for the event was provided by the Naples Daily News and Gulfshore Life Magazine.

Microsoft 365 Migration to OneDrive, Teams, Planner, and SharePoint

Earn to Learn FL was looking for a free or cost-effective way to empower their staff and volunteers to collaborate and work from anywhere.

They needed a reliable tool to access shared files, manage team communications, and improve cybersecurity. I researched possible solutions and found Microsoft's 365 Business Premium Grant. After reaching a consensus with the team we agreed to move forward with the transition.

I secured the Microsoft 365 Business Premium Grant for the organization and began the project Management process.

The stakeholders were the foundation's Director, a small team of employees, contractors, student volunteers, and our team at Chase Your Fears. Our role was:

  • Ensuring all company emails were transitioned from previous email providers and routed through Microsoft 365
  • Set up migration agents

User Onboarding

  • Developed a plan to prepare users for the upcoming change.
  • Evangelized the move. Underscored the benefits, the collaborative capabilities, and the reasons for making the move.
  • End-user training. Provided training to users on the features in OneDrive.
  • Trained support staff. Before the cut-over event, we trained support staff  in key features and common user questions.
  • Performed a Risk Assessment and Prepared for any possible downtime during the migration.
  • Developed a plan for sending communications to all stakeholders, providing clear statements of timing, and expectations and impact to the individual, including:

The migration timeline and how it would  impact them. Including any user calls to action.

  • Created tasks for the migration
  • Completed the migration
  • Monitored the Implementation of the new system and ensured successful staff and stakeholder adaption.

Results

Radically improved operational efficiency and lowered costs. Providing a centralized space for the Earn to Learn team to manage projects, store important data and improve security and communications eliminated the monthly costs the foundation was paying for individual providers. Productivity was also improved because staff and contractors now have a centralized place (planner) to manage projects and keep up with their work.

Business Building Blocks for Women (B3 for Women)

Most entrepreneurs are full of ideas for starting new businesses. And while business ideas can be exciting, they can also be overwhelming… and even scary at times, especially when it comes to deciding which one to pursue.

B3 for Women was a course sponsored by The Southwest Florida Women's Foundation and Comerica bank. The course was designed to help early stage entrepreneurs navigate the very challenging initial stages of creating and running a business.

I spearheaded this project, leading its creation from start to finish. This included:

  • Facilitating focus groups to identify areas of highest need.
  • Managing the Teachable Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Developing the curriculum for the course based on the focus group feedback.
  • Created course materials.
  • Taught the course content and offered training workshops online and in person.
  • Oversaw the creation of promotional materials and paid advertising campaigns
  • Monitored performance analytics on Google, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram

Results

Hundreds of students were able to benefit from this course. Our in person workshops received outstanding participant reviews. I've included some reviews below.
